      you c an say that about every wuxia/xanxia ln adaptation on here.

      two years ago i liked this manga, but it was too slow, someone recommended the LN, so i finished it in 4 weeks. since then i havent stopped reading wuxia and xanxia LNs. they are just too damn good.

      I don’t know why I bother repeatedly telling people this.

      But your “favorite series” doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Hatigarmscans (the people translating this) translate other series, and they all also have lives to live.

      And as far as I can tell, there’s no where to donate to them. So it’s literally just a bunch of people Hatigarm has volunteering to translate & edit series for him.

      Maybe you should do like Hatigarm did, and create your own scanlation group because you’re tired of waiting for your favorite series to be translated.

      Or don’t, because you’re a leach that has an entitled attitude.

      Have to agree with the one who sighs with this one, I personally work as a proofreader and editor on these types of projects. If you think you get paid for it ur having a laugh. Hobbies take a backseat when you need to actually go to work, and besides most of the people doing the translating and every other job surrounds these projects are still in school. and I mean honestly, if you really wanna know what happens in the story, the light novel is completely translated and free on Wuxiaworld. Pull your bloody head in mate, people like you and that attitude of yours really turn people like me off wanting to do our work. You’re reading it for free, if you want to make it go faster why don’t you actually help out instead of complaining your ignorant ass off, on a comment page

    these updates are cancer. I remember reading the raws up to 150 or so literally a year ago.

      Missalot - I don’t know chinese, I don’t even speak english, my first language is spanish, I can transcribe the chapters, and use google to translate from chinese to english, that plus that I had read the novel, so I can read the raws, but write the text in a way that everyone could understand, that could take me more time than write every single kanji.

      I don’t know how AJDOH had read the raws, but read something doesn’t mean you can translate or re-write for others to read it too.

    For those who are craving more updates, I really recommend reading the novel on wuxiaworld.com. Translated name is “Coiling Dragon”, and it’s completely translated so no needing to wait. I would suggest starting from the beginning to get everything that isn’t covered in the manhua and to establish the story moving forward.

      That sounds like a problem for your own intelligence then, since the tiitle for the college was changed to Yale after a person’s name: Elihu Yale, who was also a prominent trader, thus a possible reason of connection.
      Just seems like a really ignorant thing to be hung up on in the first place.

      its not that its not done translating. its been fully translated for ages now. i think the LN is fully done on wuxia world? its a really high quality job as well. i always felt that the manhwa kinda fell short for me

    I enjoyed reading the Light Novel but a bit disappointed in the manga as they cut out so much of the story
    Stellar Transformations second book of this Trilogy and surprised that no one is translating the manhua (it would be awesome if a translating group would pick it up http://www.iyouman(dot)com/3276/
    Desolate Era the 3rd (and currently still translating) book of this series Surprisingly i liked this one the best out of this trilogy, wished the manga contained more of it instead of skipping so much

      the manhua of Stellar Transformation is called Legend of Immortals, and Angelic Scanlations has translated till chapter 3, but they haven’t translated a chapter since 6+ months ago. Desolate Era manhua is ok, but it goes kinda slow(chapter 39). Star Martial God Technique is in chapter 79 and started 6 months after DE

      The manhua unfortunately cuts out (at a guess) about 30% of the content from the LN provided. Story elements are gone, small arcs from the LN barely get a mention and a huge amount of explanation and detail are missing.

    Guys, keep the comments on mistakes coming, it’s been a good while since I read the LN and they’re genuinely helpful. I couldn’t remember the name was supposed to be Olivier (I could feel it was wrong, but didn’t know the right answer either), that’ll be changed in subsequent chapters.

    I understand everyone has their own taste but I feel people in general are too harsh against Panlong after being spoiled by things like BTTH, SL, & SBM. I find it in general quite enjoyable and hope to see more uploads :)

      I think people are harsh against the manhua because the fact that the LN is considerably better.  I still enjoy reading the manhua though and I look forward to more updates.  Overall, the entirety of the story for Panlong is pretty good.  Maybe not the best, but definitely worth giving attention to.  I can not wait for the translations to catch up to where the raws are at right now.  The story that goes on past where it is currently is what I am really looking forward to.

    I am glad to see that chapters are flowing once again, but please, if anyone from the translation team is reading this, do not continue calling this new character Darkserker.  Going to the original name of Haeru would be a decent substitute, but Darkserker sounds like a cheesy name someone uses online TDoKu already pointed that out below.  Even if you do not use Haeru, please, for the love of all the sovereigns, rename this character.  In the LN, I hated how quickly Haeru became a background character, but with a name like Darkserker, I await that moment…

      yeah. useless mc. everything just falls on his lap for him (legendary ancestry, loving family, incredible teacher, great weapons, reliable friends) but he uses nothing well. only abuses them. very rare cases where he does ‘think’.

      if he had planned the king’s death better, he wouldn’t have lost his master. 5000 years of experience and he doesn’t even consider learning more than just magic from her. totally selfish mc. reminds me of that xian ni. equally selfish mc. his dorm mate warrior+mage (can’t call him friend as mc never appears to have treated him that well) seems to have a much better character, temparament and potential.

      The character is not shown as well as he is in the LN, but yes, he is a very selfish MC.  Unfortunately, they do not show how well he is capable of thinking and planning ahead, but most of his plans early on do fall apart.  You also hit it right on the dot about how he is just overly obsessed with revenge.  You will see soon that he is a changed man.  Despite what you may think, with him being already as ‘powerful’ as he is now…  He is still in his growing and learning phase as a MC.  He becomes much more calm and collected, yet stays pretty selfish throughout the story.  In fact, it is his selfishness that allows him to become as strong as he does, because he has such strong desires.

      @Kaiin: then perhaps he’s no better than the king himself. and when he doesn’t stop to consider how his friends may suffer due to his actions, he isn’t deserving of them. and its extremely unfortunate that his master ended up with an undeserving student like him at the end. he never truly respected her as a teacher. what a ton of knowledge she must’ve had! so much info on history too! but because of ‘plot’, this disappointing MC is the ‘hero’ of this series. sad. a very frustrating read and i can’t imagine the uber-elite-fanboy-level those loving this series must have. really not worth it.

    I’m just going to say that it was quite important that Haeru could transform after some time spend with Linley and receiving help from him in cultivation. That was one of the foundaments of their relationship, so yeah this change is quite annoying to the LN readers and in this case I fully understand that there are voices of discontent because the change is just to big.

      There are ten ranks in parallel of warrior and mage, going 1-9 followed by saint. After that the distinction between warrior and mage disappears and you have demigod, god and highgod, each of which is split into three sub-tiers. Above that you have sovereigns, who are basically top of the pile, but also have three (I think) sub-tiers.

      When Overgods get properly discussed/introduced for the first time Linley is straight up told they are basically forces of nature and you can’t become one. They’re not really a rank but in terms of power are above sovereigns.

      Also worth noting that within each group, more relevant at saint and higher, you can be strong or weak, ie, new demigod vs demigod about to become a god.

      This could all be going out the window though, 114 has an event that disregards the fact only beasts of demigod or higher rank can take human form so huge liberties are being taken in this.

    captin, i think the translators are busy with other stuff, Real life or other scanlations i don’t know. but i know the raws are so many in number (already seen them all, time ago) that if they would be scanlated we’d have 3-4 months full of readings (1-2 chap\week)

    do not fret whoever is translating the manhwa, i think there’s a good reason to be so late, and at the end, this is a passion, an hobby, so as readers we cannot complain if the translating is so slow..

Most people that read it, I really dislike how LN readers compare every detail to the novel.By now people should just enjoy the manhua as a separate entity from the LN.       Or maybe MidnightOcean has stopped translating it due to life issues?  Maybe their life changed in a way that does not allow them to focus the time to actually be able to translate at all?  Maybe we should be thankful that MidnightOcean translated anything to begin with, as it seems no one else has taken up that ‘responsibility.’  However, how can you call it a responsibility?  It is a service to the fans.  The author of the original stories do not even have a responsibility to finish it(unless they are paid to do so), so how can you call illegitimate translations a responsibility?  Learn the original source language or pay someone to translate it for you.  Do not blame others for your inability to read it.

      @Kaiin.. Translating comics is a responsibility. You have a responsibility to the fans to put out a good translation, just as the fans have a responsibility to support the Scanlators. In my opinion, I would prefer it not be translated at all if you cannot give the series the attention it deserves. And these series deserve the best translations. I do not know the translator or their circumstances, but the releases have been subpar. They are not above criticism just because they translate. We fans support them and give them an audience to review their work. Both sides need each other. We should all appreciate and support them, but we can also voice our opinions about the work. Hopefully someone comes in that can give this series the attention it deserves.

      @Iris Translating comics is not a responsibility.  Unless the fans that want to read it, and can not do so in the original language, are paying for the translations, then it is not a responsibility.  Anything given for free can not be considered a responsibility.  No, they are not above criticism, but to insult someone for -NOT- translating the manhua is not criticism.  The releases were actually pretty well done until they stopped releasing chapters regularly, around chapter 108.  What happened that prevented MidnightOcean to translate this further, we may not know, but it is obviously been dropped at this point in time.  You can not criticize something that just is not happening.  That is called whining.  With any hope, they will actually resurrect the translations here, or someone else out there will translate it.  Until then, just wait, or learn how to read Chinese yourself.  Until then, I am just glad MidnightOcean is translating Tales of Demons and Gods, because that is the best adaptation of a LN to manhua that I have personally read.

      This Manhua is based off the light novel of the same name. Although the artist took a few liberties with 1 character and shortened the story to a summary. But the Novel itself came before BTTH (Battle Through the Heavens).

      I 100% agree.  The loss of a grandfather figure that has mentored you for years of your life, that tells you that you are like a true grandson to him since he never was able to have children in his own life, is definitely a more impacting loss than a master/disciple relationship.

    This manhua was never really great to begin with but man I just can’t stand Linely anymore. He’s a selfish, greedy moron who cares nothing about who he endangers. He constantly acts on emotion instead of thinking things through with a plan. Now he forces Bebe and his master to get involved in his revenge and risk death and injury. I’m sorry but I just cannot accept his actions. I am all for revenging wrongs, but at least be smart about it and know your enemy. How many times now has Linely just blindly attacked and been defeated or shocked by his enemies power? Just not a smart MC in the least.

      thats just in the manhua… in the LN he actually spends the time to plan his revenge out and the only reason things go wrong are because of things he couldnt help… his plan to kill the king was thought out in the LN and he wouldve had accomplished it except for the shield that noboday knew about. and the guys he just fought in the manhua were just a coincidence he ran into, they werent with the king.. after this part in the LN he stops solely seeking revenge and decides to wait till hes much stronger to get vengence.

      Dio, I prefer the lightnovel. I also recommend Warlock of the Magus World. A lot of the wuxia novels have repetitive or bad writing, WotMW is one of the better novels.

      I would read it right on Wuxia, as that’s where it was translated. I would also start right from the beginning. There’s been a lot changed and doesn’t do it justice. And you’ll want to know about those little things for when they get referenced later.

      after u read the LN u will get sucked into the chinese LN world… ik it happened to me after BTTH and soul land. Novelupdates has a tracker to all the updated LN’s and if u look at the LN’s page u can see the release frequency, how many chapters r out of the raws and translated, and it tells u who the translator is so u would know which of the many sites its on… theres just too many sites to say lol

      If you want to read the LN, you should probably read from the beginning.  There are some key differences that you might find hard to get used to compared to the Manhua.  For instance, the fact that the spirit attached to the ring is an old man, not a female.

    Yes and no. Slight spoiler nothing major just explanation of dillians arrival, and connection with linely.

    Yes they are connected but you’ll find out later how. Secondly linely didn’t take his blood he took the blood of a peak level dragon. The Animal God is surprisingly accurate since he’s a deity(name of level of power saint, demigod, ***, *******, *******). Dillan is his name. His bloodline is a lion or similar to it so linely cant use his blood. The part where linely helps Dillan breaks out of gebados prison is just a fluke. The dragon at the “exit” was just there because that location has a lot of energy making training(to become a saint) easier. He doesn’t know he helped him break out and finds out much later. As for saving linely while he was in the radiant church control I think this was also by chance (even the novel isn’t clear on this.) An argument can be made Dillan realised linely was trapped and to return the favor so he broke linely out while he was expanding his territory.

The amount of force of wind needed to hold up the amount of weight of his sword would, I dunno, perhaps affect his clothing a BIT MORE than it is shown.     Well I been noticing and waiting for others to notice, but no one has…...the connection that Linley has with the animal god guy there…..first he frees him from his prison and even takes in his prisons protectors blood to become a dragon warrior…..then the animal god guy breaks Linley out of prison and takes over everything/place that was holding Linley prisoner…...there seems to be some connection there….of course i havn’t wimpped out and read the LN ....i’d rather man up and wait for the manga…so this is just my guess, but wouldn’t you agree we havn’t seen the last of this connection yet?

      @1V “Prison’s protector” The manhua skipped a lot of detail, but the dragon, and all the other high level beasts were there because there was a large density of magical power that increased the closer you get to the prison seal. As for why Dylin takes over most of the Holy Union. I’ll let you wait to find out whether or not your guess is right as confirming or denying can be considered a spoiler ;). (Hopefully they don’t gloss over everything though).
      And “wimped out to read the LN”? That’s not a great verb to use. You aren’t impatient enough to read the LN… I’m not gonna preach how the LN is better, but the translation is complete and will take 1-2 years to finish this manhua unless they skimp on a lot more detail then they already do…

      I actually read the LN before I ever knew of the manhua.  I got in to reading stuff on WuxiaWorld due to TDG, which I originally saw as a manhua.  Originally, I did not even know Coiling Dragon was Panlong the manhua at all, after I binge read it on an .ePub file on my phone, when I got back online after like 2 weeks of reading and working, I found out lol.

    I always pictured Bladeless to look a lot like FFVII’s Buster Sword, something forged entirely of a metal that was hard to form.  Basically a large metal wedge on a stick…  Although, I do like the design of it.  Of course, the name Bladeless is not explained as well, because the smith even tells Linley that the weapon has no blade, but that will not matter once he sees its true power.  The sword definitely looks like it has a blade though…  Oh well.  Not that the name Bladeless is used often.  It is always the Adamantine Sword.

      That’s because the series is being rushed.. the light novel has a lot of chapters so they’re trying to get past the mundane. The thing about most of these characters is they will be forgotten anyway due to them all being killed.

      I think it’s now at the point where it will start getting interesting, chapter 100+. The first 100 chapters are sort of an introduction.

    The MC has lost his dang mind.. I get the whole revenge thing, but Clayde is nobody. He has wasted so much time stalking this dude and making outrageous attempts at his life that he puts himself in all types of danger without even thinking. Dude needs to chill the F out and smoke some extra nice greenery. He should just go about his life and get stronger, then he can come back and kill Clayde at any time like a little fly.

      It’s more of a matter of honor than just the “You killed my father. Prepare to die” reason that they gave. In many ancient oriental countries your life means less than your honor, as your honor affects your family, community (village), and whom you serve (like a lord, king or emperor). If your family members are murdered, your family will often be looked down on as weak/incompetent and future outlooks will be limited until you get revenge. It’s more like ancient folklore mentality than reasoning.

    This is pretty dang bad now.. It has gotten really stupid and is really dragging. It would be nice if the Author would have just let Linley kill Clayde like 30 chapters ago so we could move on already. There has been barely any actual plot development of character development in a while thanks to this whole revenge thing. Clayde is such a small pawn in the big picture so I do not understand why Linley is so focused on just killing him even if he was involved. He can kill Clayde at anytime in the future and to be honest, Clayde’s life on the run with the Beasts taking over wont be great. Hope things get better soon.

      Actually, in comparison to most other mangas/mahuas, this is actually quite a good series. Just because a manga differs from a light novel doesn’t make it bad, and those that keep the mentality that a manga must only follow a light novel are only viewing mangas as a frog in the well.

      in the novel Linley saves Alice, he travels with her and her group. After that he visits her on the balcony, they get to know each other and they fall in love, after a few months Alice dumps Linley for Kalan, in the novels it was vaguely explained the reasons(probably money), Linley was so hurt that he vomited blood

    i never understood how this series is so popular when most chinese comic in this site have the same element in its story. like how’s there a tier and a classifications of power, the main character found a godly artifact, the artifact that have a teacher inside it etc, etc. considering all of that similiar element, the one that should become the deciding factor was the story. dont get me wrong panlong story might not be bad. but the comic itself was seemed out of pace and halfhearted at another. if you read 90 chapter of naruto you would realized theres a sense of porpuse in the story line, with a strong character (not in power mind you). but not this comic. after reading 90 chapter, one would struggle to find a different trait other than “evil” as the main characters enemies. maybe thats why i didnt even remember the name of any major character other than linley in this comic and have to be reminded everytime i read a new chapter. that being said, i hope the scanlations focus on a better comic like gosu or maybe the better TODG. (please dont ask me to read the LN or inform me how good the LN is compared to this comic. i dont care)

    I’m not gonna lie, I was actually all for the comic changing things from the novel, because I don’t really see a point in reading a comic where you know everything that happens. My imagination is way better than any comic. But I was naive as usual. It actually started out good enough, but like with all Author’s of this genre, as the story get longer, it just becomes filled with plot holes and just drags. And they completely butchered the whole Alice thing. There is absolutely no point whatsoever for her character in the comic. She does nothing and serves no purpose at all. Linlei liking her is even more ludicrous. Made no sense at all.. He see’s her like 2 times and is in love lol.. But yeah, it just keeps getting worse and worse as it goes on. Sad, because they could have really done some great things with the freedoms they were given by “I Eat Tomatoes”. Too bad every Author sells out to the comic publishers and starts to write the story to fit the ratings…smh

      You’re right. I think we should separate the manhwa content from the light novel content. There are a lot of people that never read the LN before so they should be allowed to enjoy the story.

      You don’t wanna start at the LN chapter equivalent to the manhwa chapter dude, the manhwa skips SO many things, there’ll be a lot of stuff you won’t understand.. Just start from chapter 1 and skip a few lines if it seems repetitive, trust me!

      I also don’t think that the LN is great ... :P ... only good. :D The part up until the end of the Necropolis is great. The parts after are only good, with some great parts in between - like the part on the island with the “meat” shield to fend off the attackers. Or the trashtalking in the realm games. But later parts are also medicore, and the last part up to the final is just bad in my opinion. Really rushed. :/

    It will not be easy to tell u where u should start from in the LN if u were following the manhua BUT the best thing to do if I were u & just as every other folks have been doing to all manhuas is to start afresh with the light novels….when u start from the beginning of the light novel, u would cum to realise that the manhua u have been following is FAR-DIFFERENT (heaven & earth) from the light novels of the Chinese authors.

      @urtv A bit more than that, the first chapter about Linley (not the first pages about the ring) takes place in 9988.
      But about half of the Yulan world’s story can be considered already told, in 10092 (with some huge timeskips with no action) Linley goes to the Infernal realm (a place where the distance between cities is measured in billions of miles and it takes dozens of years to travel from one continent to another). Saint level beings are no more than trash commoners there and can barely survive.

    Trash manga. Just 80 chapters and it is already a OP manga with unrelated facts and strange characters appearing and disappearing without any introduction about their story, the reasons they are in a place (like the pope in 81-82, but not only) bloodv broken, the snow lion (??). It is good that the protagonist can also lose but, as for his growth and victories, everything is simply a given: he learn abilities, he improves magic level… There is a main difference between a sequence of facts and a story and this is mostly falling in the first category.

    I am so disappointed with this fight. Completely rushed and wasted potential. Where are the thousands of guards flooding into Linley’s estate just to be chopped into pieces by blood violet? Every step he took towards Clyde forced him to kill 10 soldiers, I don’t even think I saw 10 soldiers die in this chapter.

      no the original dragonbloodwarriors are azurescaled and wingless, imagine a chinese dragon .. something link shenlong from dragonball only azurelike. and if you drink the blood of a dragon you get the characteristics of the dragon those blood you have consumed. in linley chase it was a wingless dragon. storylikewise he should not have wings, in this chase it is just liberty of the artist i think.

      I would not say manga sucks just it is different and if you haven’t read novel you wouldn’t understand why manga is bad, but that is just in comparison.
      Also if manga went along with novel plot it will take something like 20yrs or so if you go at that pace.
      But i do agree novel is alot better I just like the art and going to read it even tho i know what will happen.( want to see how mc will look like later :) )

      Ps Author definitely said that manga will be different. Still it is an epic story no matter how it’s done :)

      @Seorori man if u read the LN first, u cannot read this, u see on the beginning they change one of the most important characters, one of history fondation, doering cowart to a female character to ecchi appeal or someting, not only that but even hillmann and others, the training that linley for years did with hillmann and all the foundations of linley, with on the LN embasis all the psychological factor that drives him all the way on the history… this just is a piece of crap if u really compare with the LN with is a 5-star art work, but if u didnt read in fact is really nice (and several times smaller, if that matters).

      The first thing you should be worrying is your school, and finding a new part-time job. Get your things straight out first before you start worrying about translating for us.

      It just that other people do not appreciate the things that translator/you are doing and expect you to give chapters to us like it is a duty.

      I rather have you relaxing at home doing 3-4 chapters for us then having thought about worrying what to eat and how to pay rent.

    So I’ve read both the wuxia (aka Coiling Dragon) and am current with panlong. And I’ve got to say, the stories barely hold a resemblence to eachother. All the basic elements are there (main character is linley. Linley has bebe. He goes to school, this is about all that is in common). This version is extremely rushed, has no pacing, and generally sucks. The saint spirit in coiling dragon is an old man, just for starters. The characters are actually established in the webnovel, while this version kind of cartoonizes everyone, I guess to try and appeal to the mass market.

    This adaptation is so censoredty. Seriously, read the book. The manga leaves out so many details. The book is a bit slow at first, but you’ll get so into it later on. Oh and Doehring Cowart is actually a dude in the book, I don’t know why they made him into a girl with a huge rack.

    The Alice hate >_< Alice isn’t a censored. I feel sorry for her honestly. She tried to do right by her family by finding a way to absolve her fathers debts. I can’t really hate a person for choosing a longer familial relationship over a romance. She was just trying to to be a good and dutiful noble daughter and let go of what she actually wanted. That was punishment enough. The author then starts just starts laying into her character for not choosing the true love angle when technically she only did what woman of such a period would probably have been forced to do anyway. If she’d set out with the intention of maliciously hurting Linely that would have been one thing but she’s just a victim of circumstance.
